These photographs show a typical ECV task - A thicket of blackthorn at Whitewebbs Park had become so dense that no other species could grow. ECV opened the area out to allow in light, and then dead-hedged the area to prevent it being trampled. (Click on a picture to see it full sized.)
The area had become quite overgrown
In amongst the blackthorn lay several old fallen trees that also needed clearing
To protect the cleared area a dead hedge was built around it
ECV cleared this much blackthorn, providing a great opportunity for wildlife. This cleared wood will not be wasted, but can be used in other dead-hedging.
