ECV Winter Programme 2010
JANUARY
Sunday 10th
Trent Country Park
Meet 10.00 am outside the Visitor Centre, near Animal Corner.

We always have work to do in the Nature Trail in Trent, more sycamore to work on, and perhaps charcoal making in the yard. CANCELLED: In light of the current and forecast weather conditions, the planned task will NOT take place. Apologies for any inconvenience, but why not take it as an opportunity to enjoy the snow.

Sunday 24th
Forty Hall
Meet 10.00am Forty Hall car park, off Forty Hill.

The woodland to the south of the lake has invasive rhododendron and sycamore, so we will be removing some of this, to improve the area.
FEBRUARY
Sunday 7th
Pymmes Park
Meet 10.00 am Staff yard, Pymmes Park, Victoria Rd. Edmonton.

Following the success with the boat last time to get to the island, just before the ducks have started nesting, we will be continuing to cut some of the sycamore and Norway maple that are shading out the native flora.

Sunday 21st
Alma Road Allotments
Meet 10.00 am allotment entrance, just off Alma Road, Ponders End.

A small group of allotment holders are endeavouring to create a wildlife area in a corner of the site. We will be helping them plant a hedge and perhaps a bit of scrub clearance and some rubbish removal.
MARCH
Sunday 7th
Oakwood Park
Meet 10.00am Pavilion, entrances on Prince George Av and Lakenheath opp. Saxon Way.

Hopefully Karen is back on her feet and we will be able to continue our work on the rediscovered acid grassland, carrying out scrub clearance. CANCELLED: Due to H&S issues.

Sunday 21st
Trent Country Park
Meet 10.00 am outside the Visitor Centre, near Animal Corner.

The work on the rhododendron in Shaws Wood / Williams Wood is paying off, but there is still more to remove.
As Easter falls on 4th April, there are THREE weeks to the next task.
APRIL
Sunday 11th
Forty Hall
Meet 10.00am Forty Hall car park, off Forty Hill.

Fencing is the order of the day, but exactly where will be determined nearer the time.

Sunday 25th
Whitewebbs Park
Meet 10.00 am Whitewebbs Park car park, entrance off Whitewebbs Lane/Road

We carried out some fencing near the ornamental pond a couple of years ago, but more needs to be done, so we will be returning to continue the task.
